Schema Releases GSM Network Dimensioning Manager

v. 1.5 enables operators to forecast network traffic, reducing operational and deployment costs

HERZLIA, Israel – Schema, a leading global provider of network optimization software solutions, announced today that it is releasing version 1.5 of its GSM Network Dimensioning Manager (NDM).This latest release, which is currently installed on a trial basis at a large cellular operator, is an advanced analysis tool that yields significant cost savings to cellular network operators by maximizing the utilization of existing network resources as an alternative to BTS deployment, while giving increased lead time for planning necessary expansion.

NDM v. 1.5 allows telecom operators to analyze the traffic load on their networks, providing information on the performance of TRX and timeslot configurations. Advanced statistical analysis gives operators valuable insights about potential bottlenecks well before customers detect a problem. In addition, NDM v.1.5 predicts future network traffic, enabling advance planning of TRX addition or removal as well as per-sector timeslot allocations. This type of lead time reduces operational and deployment costs related to dimensioning activity and the planning of a network operator’s physical resources.

“We are pleased to be providing a major cellular operator with a dimensioning product that ensures optimal network performance and reduces the risk of customer churn,” said Avshalom Ben-Zoor, Schema VP Marketing. “NDM optimizes network resource utilization which reduces the need to invest in new infrastructure, thus increasing the ROI of existing network resources. Network operators will benefit from NDM v. 1.5 configuration recommendations which enable accurate resource allocation planning, effectively lowering overall costs.”
