Richard Stiennon of Anti-Spyware Provider Webroot and Former Senior Gartner Inc. Analyst, Brings More than 20 Years Experience to Whale’s Advisory Board.
Fort Lee, NJ, May 9, 2005 – Leading SSL VPN vendor Whale Communications today announced the appointment to its advisory board of Richard D. Stiennon, vice president of threat research at Webroot Software Inc., a producer of privacy protection and performance software.
Stiennon, formerly vice president of research and a top security industry analyst at Gartner Inc., led much of the coverage on security topics during his four years at Gartner and was a holder of Gartner’s Thought Leadership award for 2003. He also was named in 2004 “One of the 50 most power people in Networking” by Network World Magazine.
At Colorado-based Webroot, Stiennon now is applying his 20 years of experience in networking and security to identify emerging spyware and other security threats, working closely with the company’s development team to deliver comprehensive prevention and removal strategies.
