Passave fortifies management team with appointment of VP of business development

SANTA CLARA, Calif., February 22, 2005 – Passave, the leading provider of passive optical networking (PON) semiconductors for fiber to the home (FTTH), today announced the addition of semiconductor industry expert Nadav Ben-Efraim to the management team. In a career spanning a broad range of advanced technologies such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), cable and satellite set-top boxes, and digital signal processors (DSPs), Ben-Efraim has demonstrated noteworthy success in strategic development of both large established companies and start-ups.

“The addition of Nadav to our team further fuels Passaves rapid expansion in the FTTH market,” said Ariel Maislos, President of Passave. “In his role as VP of Business Development, Nadav will lead Passaves planning and strategic alliances geared for future growth.”

“Passave is clearly the leading FTTH silicon company,” said Ben-Efraim. “I am looking forward to helping it build on its leadership position and create an ecosystem that provides carriers around the world with the ability to deploy ultra-fast triple-play FTTH networks.”

Ben-Efraims experience includes senior marketing positions with LSI Logic Consumer Products division and Silicon Spice, which was acquired by Broadcom Corporation for 1.2 billion during his tenure. Subsequently, Ben-Efraim led marketing for Broadcoms new line of VoIP products, securing design wins with major telecom vendors. Passave will benefit from Ben-Afraims strong technical background which includes multiple VLSI chip designs at Xicor and LSI Logic. Ben-Efraim holds a B.S. (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University in Israel and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
