Yoqne’am, Israel, August 2, 2011 – Wavion™, a technology leader in carrier grade Wi-Fi solutions
for operators, governments and enterprises, announced today the deployment of Wavion’s unique
Beamforming-based Wi-Fi base-stations for high speed intranet access at Ferrovalle shipping
containers train yard in Mexico City.
The 3 sq-km yard was fully covered by only 13 Wavion outdoor Wi-Fi base stations. Operating 24/7
the network is used by field staff workers including drivers and crane operators, equipped with Wi-F
tablets, for real time data, voice, and video communications. The network enables tracking
containers, sending images, filling reports, and assembling trains in a record time.
“We are very pleased with Wavion’s technology due to the enhanced coverage and capacity it
provides in comparison with the other Wi-Fi vendors we have tested,” said Hector Lopez,
Ferrovalle’s, infrastructure coordinator. “With this carrier grade Wi-Fi equipment we get more
bandwidth for new field applications, increasing our efficiency and profitability”.
Wavion’s unique and powerful base stations, with their spatially adaptive Beamforming and
powerful interference immunity suite, provide extended coverage and higher throughput in outdoor
environment, excelling in severe NLOS and heavy interference.
“Wavion is proud to provide Ferrovalle, the biggest railroad terminal company in Mexico, with our
market leading outdoor Wi-Fi base stations, delivering our superior coverage, capacity and
reliability”, said Daniel Dominguez, Wavion’s Vice President Latin America. “It is yet another proof
of the added value of our unique and powerful Beamforming technology to the industrial
applications market.”
