New York – July 9, 2009 – GigaSpaces, a leading provider of application middleware platforms for Java and .NET environments, has named Zeev Bikowsky as its new CEO.
“I’m excited to lead GigaSpaces through its market growth phase,” says Bikowsky. “While I recognize the difficulties posed by the current economic climate, GigaSpaces has the only end-to-end, single-platform middleware solution on the market, so the opportunities for us are tremendous. We have a strong record and are already being leveraged by Fortune 100 companies; I see steady growth ahead, expanding these relationships and forging more key partnerships to enhance sales channels.”
Bikowsky has an extensive history of providing success to leading technology companies. Most recently, he served as the General Manager of the Networking Business Unit for Radvision, managing an annual budget of $70 million after being promoted from his previous role as GM of the Technology Business Unit. Earlier in his career, Bikowsky was the CEO of Seagull Semiconductor, prior to its purchase by Cisco Systems in 2000. He holds a BSc in engineering from Ben Gurion University of the Negev and an MBA from Boston University.
“Over the past few years, GigaSpaces has been focused on perfecting the technology and introducing it to key clients in the market,” says Sam Somech, GigaSpaces Chairman. “We brought Zeev in to lead the next stage of corporate growth because of his significant experience in running a rapidly expanding business, enhancing cooperation with strategic partners and customers.”
GigaSpaces is about to launch version 7.0 of XAP, its flagship product. XAP is an enterprise-grade application server for deploying and scaling Java and .Net applications. It allows businesses to predictably scale systems under peak demand, guarantee performance under any data processing load, and better utilize existing IT resources.
A significant part of Bikowsky’s vision is to ensure that GigaSpaces builds upon its history of facilitating extreme transaction processing, which has rapidly become an essential part of doing business. “Alongside the support of extreme business requirements, we are continuing to enhance the flexibility of our clients’ IT environments. GigaSpaces already enables them to utilize data centers, virtualized environments, and the cloud. As the market evolves, we will continue to be at the forefront of technology innovation,” concludes Zeev Bikowsky.
