ColorChip Introduces a 100GBASE QSFP28 CWDM4 2km Transceiver for Hyper-Scale Datacenter Applications

YOKNE’AM, ISRAEL–(Marketwired – March 18, 2015) –

ColorChip Ltd., a pioneer and innovator in the field of Hyper-Scale Single-Mode Solutions announces adding a 100 Gbps (4 x 25 Gb/s) CWDM high speed transceiver to its product portfolio. The transceiver is implemented in a Pluggable Quad Small Form factor (QSFP28) package and is designed to meet the requirements of the CLR4 specification and the CWDM4 MSA, operating over Single Mode Fiber to serve cost effective data center applications over 100m to 2km link lengths.

ColorChip 100G QSFP28 Modules will be demonstrated at OFC/NFOEC 2015, by running 100G Ethernet Traffic in Arista 7280E Data Center Switch.

ColorChip’s family of Single-Mode Solutions scales from 40 Gb/s to 100 Gb/s with the product roadmap including 200 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s offerings and beyond. As data rates and link lengths increase beyond the capabilities of multi-mode fiber implementations, ColorChip’s Single-Mode Fiber based solutions are designed to fulfill Hyper-Scale Datacenters present and future needs.

SystemOnGlass™ (SOG™) – The Platform for Scalability
The 100Gbps CWDM transceiver leverages ColorChip’s SystemOnGlass™ technology and builds upon ColorChip’s wafer-scale, waveguide-in-glass PLC core expertise coupled with fully automated photonic integration (PIC). This approach eliminates free-space optics to deliver compact 4xN Gbps optical engine solutions with nested multiplexing functionality, meeting market needs for ever increasing data rates, low power and low TCO levels. The company’s innovative SOG™ photonic integration know-how stands at the heart of ColorChip’s family of high speed transceiver products; a proven economical solution delivering repeatability, reliability and scalability from 40G to 1.4T.

Applications
The 100GBASE QSFP28 transceiver is an extension of ColorChip’s CWDM optical transceiver product line including the first to market 40GBASE QSFP+ LR4 transceiver as well as the 2km 40GBASE LR4 Light transceiver. By using uncooled directly modulated lasers, ColorChip’s 100GBASE QSFP28 low power transceiver is designed for use in hyper-scale data center, high performance computer (HPC) and enterprise applications.

Demonstration at OFC/NFOEC 2015
ColorChip’s 100G transceiver demonstration will take place at the ColorChip booth (#2513) during OFC/NFOEC, March 24th-26th, 2015 in the Los Angeles Convention Center. The demo is scheduled by invitation at info@color-chip.com. For more information on ColorChip, please visit www.color-chip.com.
