LAS VEGAS, January 10, 2013 — At the 2013 International CES show, Altair Semiconductor, Ecrio Inc. and Lantiq today announced the successful collaboration and demonstration of a 4G LTE IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) powered LTE Multiservice Gateway product, including Voice over LTE (IMS/VoLTE) functionality. This LTE Multiservice Gateway integrates the LTE Module for delivering IMS based and Fixed Mobile Broadband multimedia services to residential and enterprise SOHO (small office home office) and SMB (small and medium business) users. The Gateway allows users to enjoy simultaneous multiple services over the 4G LTE network, and allows mobile operators to leverage the high bandwidth to deliver a range of value-added services, such as Broadband Internet Access, Video Streaming over Multiple Channels, and rich multimedia communication services.
Altair is providing their 4G LTE pre-certified FourGee™ LTE modem chipset and LTE software stack which is used for the Verizon Network connectivity of the gateway solution.
Ecrio is providing its 4G LTE pre-certified embedded FlexIMS™ Mobile Communications Client Suite (MCCS) for LTE, facilitating the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) enabled device software and value added services functions for integration into the LTE Gateway.
Lantiq is providing the gateway chipset, consisting of the XWAY™ GRX388 as the main CPE network processor with integrated Wi-Fi MAC and Baseband, the Wi-Fi RF chip XWAY™ WRX312 and the Smart SLIC™. In addition, Lantiq also provides its Universal Gateway software suite (UGW).
“The Multiservice gateway platform we are introducing to the market unleashes the powerful capabilities of LTE beyond just Internet connectivity and data-access,” said Eran Eshed, Co-Founder and VP of Marketing for Altair. “Through this best-of-breeds partnership we managed to bring all the pieces together – including our 4G LTE certified chipset to enable carriers to offer innovative multimedia and VoIP services.”
“This is indeed an exciting milestone in serving the mobile operator by applying the power of best in class collaboration and efficient integration with operator pre-certified software and hardware,” said Michel Gannage, Ecrio co-founder and CEO. “Ecrio is fully committed to accelerate the deployment of 4G wireless broadband services using innovative Multiservice Gateway approaches to combining LTE, Router and IMS Voice, Video and other Rich Communication Services.”
“Today operators around the world want to enhance their LTE service offering beyond data-only. The all-in-one-box LTE Multiservice Gateway will help operators to achieve this goal. We are extremely excited to be part of this technology partnership together with Altair and Ecrio and that our Lantiq gateway chips are powering this product,” said Dirk Wieberneit, Lantiq Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Business Unit.
The LTE Multiservice Gateway demonstration will be shown at Verizon Booth (LVCC, South Hall, #31400) with accompanying information at the Verizon Wireless News portal or you can make an appointment with the collaboration partners.
