Whale’s Leading Endpoint Security Complaince and Flexible Architecture Support Microsoft’s Secure Access Initiative.
Fort Lee, NJ March 30, 2005 – Leading SSL VPN vendor Whale Communications today announced that it has joined Microsoft’s Network Access Protection (NAP) program.
Network Access Protection, part of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system, allows IT professionals to set, monitor and control network access based on validation of a computer’s compliance to pre-established policies.
Whale’s granular endpoint policy control and flexible architecture fit naturally, as network administrators are able to enforce granular access controls using Whale’s SSL VPN based on pre-established policies.
“SSL VPNs enable thorough security control which is an essential component when providing remote access. We are pleased that Whale has joined the Network Access Protection Partner Program,” said Steve Anderson, Senior Director in the Windows Server division.
Whale, the only Windows-based SSL VPN, will integrate with Microsoft’s native application programming interfaces (APIs) associated with Network Access Protection,
already provides tight integration and access to a wide range of Microsoft applications.
“Like Microsoft’s Network Access Protection, Whale’s flexible endpoint compliance architecture was built with integration in mind, allowing our customers to combine existing and new technologies to granularly control access to the corporate network, specific applications and specific application functionality,” said Noam Ben-Yochanan, Whale’s CTO. “We welcome the opportunity to continue to work with Microsoft to ensure our common mission, providing our clients the continued ability to recognize a long-term return on their network and security investments.”
