SAN MATEO, CA — June 30, 2016 —TrapX™ Security, a global leader in deception-based cyber security, today announced the company’s DeceptionGrid™ has earned the Innovative Product of the Year award at this year’s Cyber Security Awards, held at London’s Chelsea Harbour Hotel on Thursday, June 23. The Cyber Security Awards were established in 2014 to reward the best individuals, teams and companies within the cyber security industry. Excellence and innovation are core themes, throughout all categories. The Cyber Security Awards team reviews the industry, looking for the best possible applicants. Organizations and people from all over the world, including public, private, for-profit and non-profit organizations, from the largest to smallest, as well as new start-ups, are eligible to submit applications as long as they have a presence within the United Kingdom.

TrapX’s DeceptionGrid provides automated, highly accurate insight into malware and malicious activity with real-time detection, analysis of, and defense against new zero-day and other advanced attacks. DeceptionGrid creates a network of traps (decoys) that are intermingled with and imitate a company’s real information technology assets, creating an environment that attracts and detects malicious insiders as soon as they begin their attacks. Known as emulations, these traps represent an additional security layer within the enterprise infrastructure that identifies a breach as it happens and provides customers with instant insight, enabling them to prevent data from being transmitted out of the network and leveraged against the company.

Attackers set off a high-confidence alert once they touch a trap, providing security teams with the ability to analyze and isolate the threat, determine its objectives, or pull it offline altogether before valuable customer data can be damaged or stolen.

The Cyber Security Awards featured 10 expert judges with varied backgrounds who are some of the most well-regarded individuals in the industry.
Judge Karla Jobling said, “The competition to be named as a winner this year was especially tough. We saw some well-known individuals and companies enter, as well as a range of innovative products. It was great to celebrate with all the finalists at the well-attended event.”

“As the pioneer of deception technology, TrapX Security is honored to have DeceptionGrid be named as the industry’s most Innovative Product of the Year by the Cyber Security Awards,” said Greg Enriquez, CEO of TrapX Security. “This award is a testament to TrapX’s commitment to combatting and eliminating sophisticated threats that continue to target enterprises in search of valuable data. DeceptionGrid gives organizations the ability to quickly identify attackers that have already bypassed traditional security mechanisms and infiltrated their networks, thus significantly reducing time to breach detection. This, in turn, allows security teams to take swift and appropriate action to block the threat so that their organizations can resume normal business operations.”
