Ovum Research Report Highlights “Rebirth” of Cloudify, an Application Orchestration Framework by GigaSpaces

Much-enhanced Cloudify 3.x supports TOSCA and aligns with OpenStack; wins Cloud Computing Product of the Year nod from Cloud Computing Magazine.

NEW YORK // February 11, 2015 — GigaSpaces Technologies has made available a recently published Ovum research report which describes the 3.x release of Cloudify orchestration platform as “not so much an upgrade as an OpenStack-centric rebirth.”

The report, written by Laurent Lachal, Ovum senior analyst, says GigaSpaces has achieved what few cloud computing vendors have: offering in its cloud application orchestrator a tool that legitimately supports multiple types of clouds and multiple capabilities. Lachal points out Cloudify 3.0’s improved architecture, which delivers better functionality, integration and scalability. He also highlights its support for the Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) and OpenStack as evidence that Cloudify has emerged as “a strong shortlist contender as both a cloud application automation framework and a cloud abstraction layer, especially for those organizations interested in OpenStack.”

Lachal’s report is part of Ovum’s “On the Radar” series, featuring vendors bringing innovative products to market. A copy of the Ovum report is available for free download on the GigaSpaces website.

Cloudify Praised by Cloud Computing Magazine

Cloudify also has garnered praise from Cloud Computing magazine. In December, Cloudify received the magazine’s 2014 Cloud Computing Product of the Year award, which recognizes the most innovative, useful and beneficial cloud products and services that have been brought to market in the past year.
