NEW YORK // August 18, 2015 — GigaSpaces Technologies, a provider of in-memory computing and cloud orchestration technologies, today announced that it received the “Most Innovative Flash Memory Customer Implementation” award at the Flash Memory Summit, in Santa Clara, California, on August 12. The company was honored among Best of Show winners for its application of XAP MemoryXtend with SanDisk ZetaScale™ software with customer Wolters Kluwer Health.
GigaSpaces joined forces with SanDisk Corporation to deliver XAP MemoryXtend with SanDisk ZetaScale™ software to provide customers like Wolters Kluwer Health faster data processing at lower cost. XAP MemoryXtend enables customers to store, process and analyze data near the speed of DRAM memory at the cost of flash storage. The solution supports application data growth to hundreds of terabytes using in-memory data grid building blocks.
“We are thrilled to receive this Best of Show honor from the Flash Memory Summit, particularly because it recognizes the real-life impact of our technology — in the case of Wolters Kluwer Health, we’re literally helping them save lives,” said Adi Paz, executive vice president at GigaSpaces. “MemoryXtend is revolutionizing the way enterprises treat their storage model by creating a truly unique hybrid architecture that utilizes a combination of both RAM and SSD to allow near real-time processing at a significantly reduced cost.”
Wolters Kluwer Health uses XAP MemoryXtend to enable scaling of the growing volume of data processed by its Sentri7® clinical decision support application and to reduce its hardware footprint. Sentri7 is a web-based, real-time, decision support application that drives continuous improvement and empowers healthcare organizations to achieve excellence in care delivery. It currently serves one out of every three hospitals in the US. With XAP MemoryXtend, the application is able to process data up to 20 times faster, allowing for peak performance and high scalability to keep information flowing freely.
“The longer we are down and not processing data, the longer it takes our customers to receive the results they care about,” said Paul Kudrle, team lead, Wolters Kluwer Health. “Reducing the time for grid restarts has a hugely positive impact on the business.”
