GigaSpaces Releases XAP 9.7 with Expanded MongoDB Integration & .NET LINQ

NEW YORK–(January 22, 2014)–GigaSpaces Technologies, a provider of software middleware for the deployment, management and scaling of mission-critical applications on the cloud, has released XAP 9.7 – the latest version of its in-memory computing platform. XAP 9.7 helps users quickly build and deploy high-performance applications geared for blazing fast event processing and real-time analytics.

“With XAP 9.7 we’ve extended our support for NoSQL databases, providing a data access and eventing layer that’s blazing fast, scalable and fully transactional”

At the core of the latest release of GigaSpaces’ platform is XAP 9.7’s built-in MongoDB integration and LINQ support for XAP.NET users. XAP’s MongoDB integration enables users to easily use MongoDB as a backing store for the XAP in-memory data grid, benefitting from both XAP’s high performance and fully-blown transaction support and Mongo’s scalability and flexibility.

The newly introduced LINQ support allows XAP.NET users to submit complex queries to the in-memory data grid using the built-in LINQ syntax, making it more native and easier to use for .NET developers.

XAP 9.7 also contains a number of other enhancements such as improvements to the query projection mechanism that allows for projecting properties of nested objects, the ability to prioritize specific racks or even data centers when deploying the data grid and allocating primaries and backups, unique constraint enforcement for attributes of objects written to the grid, and a variety of additional improvements and bug fixes.

“With XAP 9.7 we’ve extended our support for NoSQL databases, providing a data access and eventing layer that’s blazing fast, scalable and fully transactional,” said Uri Cohen, Executive Vice President of Product Management at GigaSpaces. “With built-in Cassandra and newly released MongoDB integration, and enhanced integration interfaces to support metadata propagation to backing data stores, XAP users can now enjoy the full power of the in-memory data grid and NoSQL databases in the same application. We’ve also taken care to ensure that our native .NET users feel right at home and leverage powerful LINQ syntax.”
