Company to Detail the Transformation of its Online Help System into a Public Wiki Portal at STC Israel Convention
New York, NY – MAY 29, 2007 – GigaSpaces Technologies today announced that its public wiki portal has earned the Company a coveted presentation slot at the 2007 Society for Technical Communication’s (STC) 40th Anniversary Conference in Israel. On June 4, GigaSpaces’ Gilad Maayan will present “Online Help, The Next Generation: The Making of a Wiki Documentation Portal.” Maayan will detail how GigaSpaces transformed its 1000-page online help website into a public wiki portal that has drastically improved end-user experience.
The presentation is at 11:45 a.m. local time at the Daniel Hotel, Herzliya, Israel, in the Quicksoft Hall (Pacific Room). It is part of the New Tools and Technologies track at the STC Convention.
With up-to-the-minute documentation and dynamically updated content, the GigaSpaces wiki provides immeasurable value to existing and potential customers. It offers helpful information regarding online assistance, news about the latest product releases, and supporting documentation such as reference guides. The portal represents an exemplary collaborative effort involving highly knowledgeable development and product experts who work together to provide enriched documentation. The wiki, which can be accessed by clicking here, has changed the way GigaSpaces authors and collaborates on its product documentation. By allowing users to participate in content development and increasing access to editing across the organization, GigaSpaces has enhanced the online help and support to provide customers with the most current product information available.
“GigaSpaces is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve in every facet of our business, and the support we provide to our customers is no exception,” said Geva Perry, chief marketing officer of GigaSpaces. “By instituting an interactive portal that delivers the most up-to-date documentation on our technology, we provide an enriched and unique user-experience.”
GigaSpaces turned to Atlassian Confluence, a global enterprise software company, to transform its public online help and documentation system into a wiki portal. The implementation of the enterprise-class wiki was so successful that other departments within GigaSpaces became interested, and the Company set up an additional Confluence server as an internal organizational wiki.
GigaSpaces’ selection to present at the Israel Convention comes off the heels of another recent honor the Company received from the STC regarding its communication to users. In January, GigaSpaces’ “Quick Start Guide” for new users was singled out for the highly-regarded Merit Award, from among 16 finalist submissions entered in the Trans-European Technical Communications Competition.
