Significant network quality improvement implementing Schema's GSM Forte as Schema expands Indian market presence.
Bangalore, India and Herzlia, Israel, February 22, 2005-Schema, a global provider of industry-leading network optimisation, simulation and related management solutions, announced today completion of another successful RF optimisation project in Hutchison Essar's Gujarat circle. Implementation of Schema's GSM Forte optimisation solution, an automatic optimisation product based solely on mobile measurements, enabled Hutch to achieve significant improvements to network quality.
In the recently completed optimisation projects, Hutch achieved an impressive level of improvement to network quality-reducing dropped calls nearly 40%. During the project, Hutch also experienced noteworthy improvements in a number of major RF KPIs, including call success rate (CSSR), handoff failures (HOF), dropped call rate (DCR), and RxQual. These improvements are all the more significant because Hutch's network quality was already good before the project retunes.
"Put simply, Schema's GSM Forte works very effectively", said Naresh Gupta, Chief Technical Officer, Hutch. "Our RF team adopted the product quite quickly, and described Forte as 'an easy to use, powerful and friendly software solution.' Because the optimisation cycles are automatic and very short, we were able to optimize 300 sites in a very short period."
In concert with the successful completion of the Hutch projects, Schema announced its entry into the Indian market with a series of Network Optimisation customer events. The one-day seminars were designed to enable Indian operators to maximize the efficiency of their GSM, CDMA, and Transport networks. The seminars included presenters from such leading companies as Andrew, Nortel, Cellcom and IWTL. The three events held in Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai were attended by more than 140 CTO's, VP's, senior managers of RF and Transport networks, and others, and were deemed an unqualified success.
"India is an attractive and highly competitive emerging market," said Andy Silberstein, Schema COO. "Increased competitive pressures and falling ARPUs are forcing telecom operators to look at technologically advanced solutions like ours in order to reduce costs while still providing the very best network quality to their customers. We are in talks with a number of leading operators across India, and we're excited to be discussing how our solutions can meet their needs today and in the future."
Along with exhibiting its full range of innovative optimization solutions, Schema will be announcing additional customer wins and new products and technologies at the upcoming CTIA show, 14-16 March in New Orleans at booth #2370.
